The arts offer a step beyond project-based learning because they represent "projects" that engage learners on physical and emotional levels. Also, they offer opportunities to not only apply knowledge, but also to apply it imaginatively. In applying knowledge imaginatively, learners have a chance to play with ideas, to question them, and to transform them—to see them differently.
Middle School Visual Arts Teachers will meet to discuss upcoming community art shows and share art lessons that align with the NC Standard Course of Study.
