Modeling uses introductions to phenomena through demonstrations, labs, or other activities to stimulate student ownership of learning in a science classroom.  It involves students collecting empirical evidence before the teacher introduces any concepts about a learning objective.  The teacher is there to provide an opportunity for students to observe science in action, and lead the student to an understanding of the science behind their observations without direct instruction.  Chemistry (Physical Science) will be the topic of the demonstrations for this session, but the process can be applied to any science phenomenon.
